Kitting Out a 60-Person Trail Club
How the Night Owls went from mismatched singlets to a full custom range in three weeks, start to finish.
The Night Owls run crew came to us with sixty members, four sizes of an old screen-printed tee, and a 5am start time that meant most of their kit photos were taken in headlamp light.
We started with a single brief call: what do you actually wear, and what do you wish you had? The answer was a lightweight tee for the group runs and a windproof vest for the cold pre-dawn starts — nothing more.
The fastest part was the design. Three concepts in five days, one round of revisions, and the crew voted on colourways in their group chat. The slowest part, as always, was getting sixty people to fill in a size form.
Three weeks after the first call, sixty runners had kit that actually fit, in a print that survived a wash test we ran ourselves before it shipped.
