Everyone knows the 1000 Steps. Fewer people know that a ten-minute drive in almost any direction gets you a climb that's just as honest, with a fraction of the foot traffic.
We test prototype kit on these climbs specifically because they're unglamorous — sustained grade, inconsistent footing, the kind of climbing that finds every seam and strap that doesn't sit right.
Sherbrooke to Grants Picnic Ground via the lesser-used fire trails is our most-run loop for exactly that reason: 400 vertical metres of fern-shaded climbing with almost nobody on it on a weekday morning.
